Eric Lane Barnes has been assistant artistic director of Seattle Men's Chorus since 2000. He utilizes his theatrical experience to direct Captain Smartypants and to assure an acceptably high level of pizzazz in each Seattle Men's Chorus concert. He is the author of the critically acclaimed Fairy Tales, which garnered several Chicago and New York awards, and enjoyed successful runs in Chicago, London, New York, Minneapolis, Buffalo, Richmond and Houston. Eric's newest show The Stops enjoyed a successful runs in Seattle and Houston. His revue Fruit Cocktail opened to critical raves at Theatre New West in Houston in January 2003. Barnes has written extensively for many GALA choruses including New York City Gay Men's Chorus, Turtle Creek Choral, One Voice Charlotte, Seattle Men's Chorus, Cincinnati Gay Men's Chorus, Singing Out! Toronto, Gay Men's Chorus of Washington D.C., Gay Men's Chorus of Lexington, Unison Lesbian and Gay Singers, The Windy City Slickers and The Windy City Gay Chorus.
