Debra Westwood has provided artistic and accurate American Sign Language interpretations of concerts, plays, poetry readings and musical theatre since 1980. She has worked with the Seattle Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre, A Contemporary Theater, the 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and with such luminaries of the women's music scene as Holly Near, Cris Williamson, Margie Adams, Tret Fure, Meg Christian and Ferron. Debra is a former officer and board member of the Washington State Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, the Family Education & Counseling Center on Deafness and the American Sign Language Interpreting School. She is excited and proud to be Seattle Women's Chorus' charter interpreter.
