SEATTLE MEN'S CHORUS AND SEATTLE WOMEN'S CHORUS
ANNOUNCE 2006-2007 SEASON
The Power of Harmony explores music that makes a difference
What do the music of Madonna, Boy George, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland and the Catholic Church all have in common?
They're all part of the Seattle Men's Chorus 2006-2007 season. (And you were thinking "memorable melodies, fishnet stockings and priests' robes!")
The Seattle Women's Chorus has an equally intriguing year, filled with the satirical and the spiritual. Guests include comedians Lisa Koch and Peggy Platt in December and Ysaye Barnwell of Sweet Honey in the Rock in April.
According to Dennis Coleman, artistic director, "This season, both choruses will sing about our lives and the things we and our audiences care most about. Collectively, the concerts will be among the best we've performed."
Tickets can be ordered by phone at 206.388.1400, online at flyinghouse.org or in person at 319 12th Avenue, Seattle.

That '80s Show · Seattle Men's Chorus 2007 Spring Concert
Boy George. George Michael. Michael Stipe. Madonna. Cyndi Lauper. What says "Let's dance!" more than the decade that began the first wave of out-and-proud pop performers? From edgy lyrics and synthetic beats to iconic music videos and films like Footloose and Flashdance, the men take on the era that dares ask the question, "Do you wanna funk?"
Scared Faithless · Seattle Men's Chorus 2007 Summer Concert
Many gay men and women have felt specifically unwelcome in church, temple or mosque. Yet scores of others have found their community of faith to be a place of comfort and healing. Is it possible to be gay and have a profound sense of faith? With beautiful choral music and candid stories from the ranks of our members, we will explore this rich realm as only Seattle Men's Chorus can.
American Masterpieces · Seattle Men's Chorus Bonus Concert
The men have been chosen to participate in the American Masterpieces Choral Music Festival presented by the National Endowment for the Arts. This concert embraces some of the most beloved masters of American music: Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Randall Thompson and others. Hear great music sung by a world-class chorus, in a concert rich with the incomparable sound of male choral singing.
SEATTLE WOMEN'S CHORUS
Ho Ho Ho Fa La La Ha Ha Ha · Seattle Women's Chorus 2006 Holiday Concert

Lift It Up · Seattle Women's Chorus 2007 Spring Concert
Internationally-renowned Ysaye Barnwell of Sweet Honey in the Rock joins the Seattle Women's Chorus in a repertoire of soul and spirituals in this celebration of life and music. Resounding rhythms, rich harmonies, stirring lyrics and soaring melodies, including songs from Oprah Winfrey's Broadway hit, The Color Purple, interweave in this testimony to freedom that will rock the rafters and lift you out of your seat.
