about Our Artistic Staff
Seattle Men's Chorus is lead by a talented group of individuals from diverse backgrounds. It is because of these men that Seattle Men's Chorus has become the largest and most influential choral organization in the state of Washington and the largest community chorus in America.
Dennis Coleman has conducted Seattle Men's Chorus as Artistic Director since 1981. His talents have led the chorus to its prominence as the largest community chorus (in audience and budget size) in the United States.
Kevin Gallagher also joined in 1981 as one of the first interpreters of any chorus nationwide.
Evan Stults joined the chorus in 1984 as a singer and soon took over the reins of principal accompanist.
Eric Lane Barnes joined in 2000 as the group's permanent Assistant Artistic Director. He started the group Captain Smartypants and writes many of the songs performed by the choruses as well as its ensembles.
